Art resources are the diverse range of human activities creating visual or performance art, including painting, sculpture, music, theater, and dance.  These artifacts express the author or maker’s imaginative and technical skills, and may incorporate other elements such as history or culture.  Art may be characterized in terms of mimesis, expression, communication of emotion, or other qualities.  Artistic resources are intended to be appreciated for their beauty, workmanship, and/or emotional power and are meant to be interpreted by the viewer.  Though the definition of art varies over time and between individuals, we will consider art anything stemming from human agency that displays creativity or technical skills.  Collectively, these diverse art resources tell the story of the Northeast Iowa.
